This time not strictly a deer hunting book, but I think very useful one. Any deer stalker that has access to his/her own ground will at some point start thinking about improvements. What can I do to increase deer numbers, improve average body weight or improve stalking quality and access to the land? Woodland Rides and Glades: Their Management for Wildlife published by Joint Nature Conservation Committee is vary short publication talking about the value and management of forest rides and glades and their importance for biodiversity. Authors talk a lot about insects and plants but deer also benefit from a proper rides cutting and coppicing.
The book is currently £3.50 at Amazon and I think it is good to know how to improve environment for deer and other wildlife. If you own the land you stalk or can influence the landowner to make some improvements or have permission to do some work in the forest yourself this book is a good read.
